All our sodas are produced with a perfectly measured carbonation level to ensure a constant and continuous experience throughout every single serving.
We aimed for a mixer that function well and at its best with spirits, but each single variation may just as well be served “naked” without alcohol.
By mixing ice cold water from underground reservoirs with different botanicals and a high quality quinine, the offset for a great tonic is created.
Our lemonade is produced with an offset in the Syrian rose - in Latin ‘Hibiscus Syriacus’. For this reason, we have chosen the abbreviated name - rose hib - which by no means is related to rose hib, as this is the fruit from a very different botanical.
Ginger has been one of the most predominant ingredients in connection with creating the taste register of the modern cocktail, due to its tickling and almost titillating effects, hence creating a new dimension to the gusto of a cocktail.
Copenhagen Sodas has developed a line of beverages with a focus fixed on spirits. The name, 5 Cent (5C) refers back in American history to the spread of sodas and beverages on a par. Around the Western industrialisation, American ‘Soda Jerks’ sold carbonated water across the country at a price of 2 cent (2 cents plain, as a sparkling water was called at this time) and a sparkling water induced with fruit flavour was sold for a ‘nickel’ - i.e 5 Cent.
At Copenhagen Sodas, we have focused on a product line that emphasises the balance of the mixer when combined with spirits. In this sense, we have chosen our list of ingredients on the basis of taste in combination with alcohol. When served with alcohol and plenty of ice (to secure the right temperature and dilution), the level of carbonisation is extremely important. The carbonisation also regulates and stipulates the natural balance of acidity in our sodas.
In the soda, we focus on a fairly high carbonisation level with mid-sized bubbles. This promotes a higher level of corporation between botanicals and esters in a chosen spirit and the list of ingredients in our mixers. The size of the bubbles conclusively secures a crisp profile throughout the ‘life’ of a drink.
